What’s the difference between as asbestos register and asbestos management plan?

An asbestos register and an asbestos management plan may be confused with one another, however they are two different documents that are both required if asbestos materials have been identified in a workplace.

An asbestos register is a document that outlines where asbestos has been found on the premises, as well as the type of asbestos, condition and a risk assessment. The asbestos management plan is essentially the document that details how the asbestos will be managed. The management plan will include who is responsible, how accidents will be dealt with and a plan for removing or monitoring the asbestos.
