Asbestos Testing
Greenlight has a fast 48-hour NATA accredited asbestos testing service open Australia-wide and with drop-off location in Melbourne. Our reports are colour coded and can, optionally, include photos that you take of the material for clearer communication of the results with other stakeholders or interested parties.
See an example Report here.
Our asbestos testing service has three options:
We have detailed instructions on how to safely collect samples, package them and deliver to Greenlight all embedded within the form. Once complete you will receive a chain of custody to your nominated email account – print this out and it include with your samples.
No access to a printer? No problems – just mark the samples with the appropriate sample number and include your name and contact number with the samples – we will take care of the rest.
You can download detailed instructions here, otherwise the form should tell you everything you need to know.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
How big a sample do we need?
A piece about the size of a 50cent coin is ideal for most materials. If the material is either vinyl tile or seamless vinyl – please collect a piece the size of a credit card. If the material is loose, such as loose fill insulation, about half a cup is adequate. Please note for loose fill insulation, we strongly recommend having one of our consultants collect the sample.
-
How are samples analysed for asbestos?
Samples are analysed in our NATA accredited laboratory under a Stereomicroscope. Selected fibres are analysed by Polarised Light Microscopy in conjunction with dispersion staining techniques including Synthetic Mineral Fibre and Organic Fibre as per the Australian Standard AS 4964-2004 Method for the qualitative identification of asbestos in bulk samples.

How do we pay?
