What is the difference between an asbestos register and an asbestos management plan?

An asbestos register is a document that identifies the location of asbestos, as well as its condition, the type of asbestos, risks and recommendations as to the appropriate actions required to ensure the safety of those in a workplace.

An asbestos management plan is the written plan of how the asbestos will be managed in a workplace and will include details like who is responsible and how any asbestos related incidences will be handled.

These documents work together and its important that both are kept up to date.
