Can I do my own asbestos air monitoring test?

No. Asbestos air monitoring needs to be performed by an occupational hygienist or specialist who has undergone significant training. Air monitoring requires the use of a lot of technical equipment and usually an accredited lab will need to test samples of air from the monitoring process.

Air monitoring is also often conducted to be able to provide a site with a clearance certificate to say that the site is free from asbestos materials and these certificates can only be provided by an independent and licensed asbestos assessor.
